As I'm sure any G1 user can relate to, when you start downloading apps (such as Bloo or Twitdroid) in addition to web and email, your battery starts to take a dive. For me, on a fully charged G1 using the original battery, I would be LUCKY to make it the whole day. If I got 1 or 2 phone calls in addition to the web stuff, I'd have to plug my G1 in before the end of the day.
In all the reviews, this battery came out as a must have. For me, the extra 5mm really was a concern of mine, as 5mm isn't that extra, but it will make your G1 look chubbier. At first I saw this as strange, but now after a day of using it, I have to admit, the extra 5mm actually makes it easier to type on the keyboard! Go figure right! That plus the fact that it's now about noon and I've been using my phone most of the morning and I still have almost a full charge! Typically I'd now be well below 1/2 my battery if using the original G1 battery.
This is an absolute must have for any G1 user!

This battery and case extender really improved the charge and usability of the G1 - but after hardly three months of regular use. In addition, the case extender's plastic was more fragile than the stock HTC case resulting in minor chips. If the battery had a longer life and the shell was more durable this could be a great product.

If you have the standard Battery in your G1 then this is the setup you need. I was charging often 3 times per day now with hard use once per day, normal use 2 days and light use 3 days. This makes the G1 do what it should have done from the beginning. The back cover is a nice finish and easy to hold. My typing is better also. I have large hands so much easer to hold. Still fits my old case so that was a + ... I gave this a high rating because it was grate for me.

THE BATTERY LASTS LONGER SO THAT'S THE ONLY GOOD THING!!!!!! THE BATCKDOOR IS CRAPY AS HECK! IT BROKE TO EASY! IT FELL FRM MY BED ONTO MY CARPET WHICH DISTANCE IS ABOUT A LITTLE MORE THAN 2 1/2 FEET! THE BACK DOOR SUCKS SO NOW I USE JUST THE BATTERY WEN MY REGULAR BATTERY DIES...I RECOMMEND THE BATTERY BC G1Z DIE FAST, BUT AS FOR THE BACK DOOR, SMH, GET A DIFFERENT ONE! BETTER YET JUS GET THE BATTERY BY ITSELF AND BUY AN EXTENDED BACK DOOR SEPARATELY...THEY HAVE A DIFF KIND ON HERE....IITS NOT FLAT, BUT I THINK IIT WILL LAST BETTER THAN THIS PIECE UV CRAP ONE! IM JUST SAYIN....

Battery performs as described. Case is a little on the weak side, we have 4 G1's and all have a tendency to chip easily.
