Product arrived quickly via USPS from eForCity. Battery fit perfectly in my 1st generation iPhone and all is working so far.



Be warned though -- installation of a replacement battery in the original iPhone is not a simple process. It will require soldering three tiny little wires, in addition to all of Apple's usual hair-pulling, 'Chinese puzzle box' steps to open the iPhone. Tools provided in kit worked well, though I supplemented these with a tiny flat-head screw driver I already owned to help open the case.



No instructions came with package, but I found a great Bleeding Edge TV 190 video which walked through the process in step-by-step detail. Overall, I found the two-hour replacement process - even with the soldering - a bit easier than a similar battery replacement I did a few years back on a 3rd Generation iPod. If done with care, your iPhone will show no scratches or other evidence of the replacement effort.



If you are handy, very patient, and have great eyesight, this replacement battery should be what you are looking for.

Its always tough finding a proper replacement part for any electronic item, especially something as expensive and particular as the iPhone. This item is an adequate replacement for the factory 3.7V 1400mAh battery.



I ordered 2 of these replacement batteries (one for my and one for my wife's iPhone). The shipped quickly and were received by US Mail within a few days.



Once received, I set about to cracking my phone open and replacing my battery. I obviously don't recommend any of this unless you're mildly mechanically/electronically inclined, and can solder.



From start to finish, took me about 20-30 minutes to replace the battery. I tested it, reassembled and put it on the charger for a full charge. Today will be the first "full" day I can put it through its paces to see if there really is an improvement, but so far its looking promising.



Good folks to buy from, and a quality product - if you're looking to replace your own iPhone battery and save some money, work with these folks.

Received the OEM LG battery from SF Planet promptly.

The battery appeared to be new and unopened, used it for 2 weeks and it died abruptly when my wife was out of town on a trip. I kept my wife's original battery which she is currently using again. I read reviews and found some of the batteries didn't work any better than the original one's that came with the phone 4 years ago.I guess since the phone is no longer made these are just old inventory. At least they are very inexpensive...buyer beware.

This vendor (OEM for Cheap) listed the batteries as new, but they are used. They were not packaged in plastic as a new battery would be. I ordered 2 batteries and paid $25 for overnight shipping as my phone battery had died and I was getting ready to go on a business trip.



I charged the first battery overnight and it would only last for about 30 minutes. I charged it again overnight and the next day it died completely and would not take a charge.



The second battery was DOA, I measured the output. 0 VDC the internal protection circuit had disabled the battery.



I wish I had read the reviews on this vendor. He shipped me recybled trash, not new batteries.

I purchased 3 of these batteries and 2 of the 3 don't work. I didn't even try the 3rd battery. It appears to hold its charge all day, but if you actually try to make or answer a call it shuts off claiming battery low. I can recharge for 5 mins, it will indicate it is fully charged again, but act the same way. They are probably rejects and I wouldn't ask for replacements or probably buy from Eforcity again. No confidence.

I did not know about Amazon.com till my cell phone battery was not holding charge. I tried numerous times to purchase a new phone with Verizon but was unsuccessful. If you are retired and do not need all these Blackberry's and extra service or do not know which phone to pick from the 100's they have to choose from, you are out of luck. going to the store the young people that wait on you have no patience to help you make the right choice. I decided even though my phone was older, I would purchase a battery and just keep it. Verizon was going to charge me lots of dollars for a battery so I would be forced to purchase a new phone and upgrade service. I went to Radio Shack to purchase a battery and they did not have one that went to my phone. The two gentlemen were so nice and told me about Amazon.com. They showed me on the back of my battery where to find the number I needed to look for. I went to the website, entered what I wanted and the number and got the battery for $5.00. I was sent a confirmation and in a week I had my battery that works great. I am so grateful to the 2 men at Radio Shack and to Amazon.com for helping people get items at a fair price. I was only getting about 24 hours on the battery that comes with the Blackberry 8330 (Curve). It was a huge hassle with all the logistics of ensuring my battery was hooked up to a charger wether in office or car - and made it harder to actually use the phone (having to find it, unplug it, answer call, etc).



With this extended battery, I get about 4 to 5 days between charges. Fantastic! The only problem is finding a holster to fit it. Most of the expanding clip-on holsters advertised are still not big enough. You will have to continuously lock your keyboard before putting it in the holster. I suggest you find one of the clip-on holsters and turn the blackberry face-in to the holster.

I upgraded the OS on my Blackberry Curve 8320 and noticed a sudden incredible battery drain. Not good for a gadget addict like myself.



Instead of spending hundreds to buy the newest model Blackberry, I searched around for an extended battery. This seemed to be the way to go.



Pros:

The battery arrived quickly. It charged beautifully and held the charge very well. I was truly impressed! Even the size of the battery wasn't anything unsettling. I got used to holding it without a problem and it even fit in my leather holder without a problem. Great stuff!



Cons:

The battery door was defective. It would not stay latched. It was warped and didn't fit right so I was either losing the door or losing connectivity. You really do need a door that fits properly.



That's it for the review on the extended battery. I had to return the defective battery door in order for the seller to ship a replacement. That doesn't make much sense because it's a $1.50 piece of plastic and you can't do anything with the battery unless you've got the door. So, I returned the whole order. I didn't get refunded for the cost of shipping and handling on a defective piece, but lesson learned! I will certainly purchase this again, but directly from the manufacturer this time.



Bottom line - definitely get the extended battery but be sure to check out the seller carefully.

This product delivers. I followed the instructions doing a full charge before using. I can listen to mp3's all day while talking, texting, sms'ing, e-mailing, and browsing and I still have power left at the end of the day. The original battery would die by 5pm with that kind of usage. It is important to allow the battery to run into the red before recharging (if you can). As with any re-chargeable battery its power increases during the first 5 or 6 charges (this is stated on the product packaging label). I ordered on a Saturday and it was in my mail box on Tuesday. I had to purchase a new case (10 dollar Case Logic made for a palm treo). I actually like the thicker feel with the new back. Somehow it also improves the volume, don't know how but it is an added plus for me. I would strongly recommend this to anyone who needs the extra battery life.

Well, mostly because it was new. You forget how long a fresh battery keeps your cell phone going, because they diminish in capacity over time very slowly. But you put in a new battery and BAM, its lasting like all week. I am totally thrilled with this battery. The battery that came with the PRO could not have been more inadequate. Not so with this Seidio Innocell Extended Life Battery. I am not a big user of the WIFI, WEB, GPS features but when I used them with PALM battery it would be dead in no time. I have yet to see the charge dip more than 1/3 with same type of usage with this battery. If you do use those features like most people this battery is a MUST for you! Yes it is bigger but the replacement back also comes with the battery and it fits PRO perfectly. The Seidio skin I have for the PRO is now a bit small due to the greater thickness of PDA with the bigger battery but it is SO worth it! I want the POWER!

BATTERY DESIGN PROBLEMS

Unlimited Sprint/Verizon phone-data-text plans are killing batteries!! The phone manufacturers are FOOLS trying to cut battery size when demand is increasing!! You can impose all the power saving features you want but current draw is current draw and the 1500mA battery is just NOT enough. 1500mA is not enough for ANY phone but the most basic units with maybe @3 hours total usage per day (phone-data). Also note that as the batteries warm up, internal resistance increases, thus their current capacity declines which appears as a more rapid discharge when you start falling below 50% charge. The constant push for "thin" and "ultralight" is just STUPID. If you need this extreme get a bluetooth headset. Every web based cell phone MUST have at least 2500mA capacity but these goons are NOT listening - they want to sell more damn batteries.



USAGE PROBLEMS

My old Treo 700P's were just barely making it through the day with their larger 1800mA batteries and single task operations (no multi-apps running). As soon as I got the unlimited plans, sure enough, I was killing a battery every 8 hours. In a 16 hour day I was just barely making it through with the 2nd battery. Moving to the Treo Pro and windows mobile I was now able to multi-task with background Kinoma or WunderRadio running while surfing and sometimes getting calls (cool!). Oh no...dead battery in 4-5 hours FOR SURE! What?!! Carry around TWO batteries - this was getting OUT OF HAND!



BATTERY NEEDS

Looking at the math and my usage burning through just over 2 batteries per day I calculated I needed something just over 3000mA. The higher capacity would cover my usages plus it would delay this accellerated discharge issue after heating up. Also, the battery heating was transferring into my ear since the whole phone is a heatsink.



THE SEIDIO - GREAT!

I stumbled upon the Seidio on a blog with people complaining about battery problems in general. WOW! MY PROBLEMS ARE OVER! 3500mA is just PERFECT! I list the results below:

- I can go 16 hours without ANY concerns of zero battery.

- The added thickness is noticeable but still not as thick as my old Treo 700P.

- Weight increase is noticeable but not objectionable.

- The soft rubber back adds a nice "grip" to the phone and it no longer slides around compared to the factory shiny back.

- The annoying heating in my hand is GONE. The battery acts as a great thermal sink to draw heat away from the front of the phone/keypad and through the back (mass=heatsink. Simple physics).

- The back is very nicely tooled, snaps on cleanly, and does not fall off even if dropped.

- The back hole for the camera is simple but does not intrude.

- The stylus is unaffected and smoothly slides in/out.



In summary, 3500mA seems like overkill but Seidio did their research and they are right about this capacity. Too bad they did not make a "2500mA" unit since this would solve all issues for the average user and then allow the "power user" to step up to the 3500mA unit.

I was having a serious problem of needing to charge my phone at least twice daily (factory-installed battery lasted probably 7 to 8 hours max) - even less if I tried to run apps or browse the web. This new, aftermarket battery allowed me to go from 8am one day to 8pm the next (36 hours) with fairly significant app use.



This physically thicker battery also comes with a very nice neoprene-like back for the phone, which is necessary for the phone's capacity to house the battery. It adds about 1/3 of an inch to the phone's thickness.



I would recommend this product to anyone who has a Palm Treo Pro - and I would tell Palm to make their phone a little larger if it means making it through an entire day on one charge.

I decided to return to my LG CU500 after some frustration with my newer LG VU920. One of the reasons I bought the LG VU920 was that the battery packs I had for the CU500 just were not holding charge like it was when new. This battery I rate a a 4 because I still do not get the battery usage that I did when the phone was new and maybe it is the phone. Even when I keep Bluetooth off, I do not get a full days service.
