the battery i bought was a 2300mAh but wen i received it it was a 2200mAh battery and the cover for the phone was so different from the one in the picture.i wass happy i got the battery but not to trusted wen it gave me a 2200mAh so it would worth it for a cheaper battery and overall it a good product to save ur battery and not kill battery once i leave 3g on and keep on using it.this battery help me stay on aim all day and not have to bring a charger to charge it in school everyday!

After reading a few reviews, I was thinking that maybe this wasn't the best thing in the world. I didn't really think it would meet my expectations. Well, let me tell you. It met and SURPASSED my expectations!
My current battery did not make it even 5-6 hours through the day without charging. I wanted my G1 to last me throughout the ENTIRE DAY without a single charge. So when I received the new battery I took it to the test.
I fully charged it overnight and removed it from the charger at 7:00am. I repeatedly used it to check Facebook, Twitter, e-mails, and text messages. I also downloaded a few things from the market, played a game or 2, and uninstalled a few things. I did a little of browsing too. I hit 50% at 2:00pm. When I got home, I don't do much with it since I have access to a computer, so it was pretty idle all night. I checked it at 11:00pm and it was at 20%! I was SO AMAZED!
I will say that the additional cover increases the size of the phone about a half of a centimeter. Wasn't a HUGE difference to me. It's comparable to a Sidekick 2 (if you owned one). Even made typing more comfortable.
So in conclusion, if you want more then DOUBLE the battery life, this product is definitely what you are looking for. And for the price of $20, it just doesn't get any better than this! :D

The battery that came with the phone would have 3% left at night when I would plug it in if I didn't use the phone much. Now with the Extended Battery has 60% left at night. I would tell everyone to get this Battery.

If you keep your phone in your pocket like I do,
and have chargers all over the place like I do,
Then this battery upgrade may not be for you.
The phone is heavier and 1/8" inch thicker with the battery and case.
Feels like a Treo now, or a GPS.
The battery now lasts 3 days instead of one.

I've only been using this battery for a short time so the jury is still out on the actual long term performance. So far though, its been outstanding. I can't tell you how nice it is to actually be able to use all of the features of the G1 without worrying about where my charger is. With this battery I've been actually been able to use the new Google Navigation without worry.
As for the "almost perfect part": The picture of the product I ordered clearly showed a battery cover that was all one thickness with a recessed camera hole. The cover that I received is the "step" model, where the bottom of the phone is thicker then bumps back to the original thickness near the camera & speakerphone port. The main reason I ordered this exact model (as opposed to the dozens of others) was the fact that the back cover was all one thickness. Frankly, the phone is funny looking enough without some "hunchback" battery cover. I know, minor detail, but it bothers me when I order one thing and get another.
All in all, you can't really beat this for the money. $20 bucks and you can finally use your G1 for the robust smartphone that it is. Even if it does look like the "Zach Morris Phone 2.0".
